Get into the spirit of giving with Casey’s Toy Drive and our Kong Program. Casey’s Toy Drive benefits Mattel Children’s hospital at UCLA and was founded in 2009. This year, we are a drop-off location for this wonderful drive. Casey is from Moorpark who suffers from a very rare and incurable intestinal disease. He is dependent on IV nutrition that is administered every night through a permanent IV in his chest. Casey has been a patient at Mattel Children’s Hospital since he was a year old and he has developed a very special bond with the nurses, doctors, and staff. Casey’s mission is to bring toys to the kids at Mattel Children’s Hospital to make their holidays and hard times a little brighter. The toys that Casey collects from friends, family, and the community are used year round for patients that stay in the hospital, that have outpatient surgeries, and that have scary procedures or infusions in the clinic setting.
Casey will be accepting donations now through December 20th. Toys must be new and unwrapped due to strict infection control guidelines. Gift cards are also accepted. You can find out more information including a want list on Casey’s Facebook page, Casey’s Crew. Casey will deliver the donations to the hospital during the week of December 21, 2015.
Through mid-December, purchase a Kong for your dog at our office and a shelter pet receives a Kong in return. Thanks to so many wonderful people, Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) has an amazing Kong enrichment program where shelter pets get to enjoy Kongs stuffed with a treat. We are so thankful that our Ventura County shelters do such amazing things and that they are no kill! It takes a tremendous amount of support and effort to operate and maintain shelters especially when they are no kill.
